Xinhua News Agency, Haikou, August 10 (Reporter Zhou Huimin and Wang Junfeng) "You are the first, please take good care of this collection tube..." On the morning of the 9th, in the lawn corridor of Howard Johnson Guoguang Resort Hotel Sanya in Sanya, Hainan, from Lai Yuming, a tourist from Hunan, was wearing protective clothing and, together with several other volunteers, provided nucleic acid information collection services for hotel tourists.

Recently, the outbreak of new crown pneumonia in Sanya, due to the peak summer tourism season, about 25,000 tourists stranded in local hotels, Lai Yuming, a resident doctor from Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, is one of them. Not long ago, together with two colleagues, he just finished a three-year training in the hospital and chose to come to Sanya for a "graduation trip".

After the outbreak of the epidemic, Lai Yuming and his party planned to return on the 6th, but they were stranded in Sanya due to the cancellation of the flight that day.

"Since you have stayed here, why don't you do something meaningful?" Lai Yuming and his team discussed and decided to give full play to their strengths and sign up for volunteer services. "The local authorities and hotels have given us a lot of care, and we also hope to do our bit to help Sanya fight the epidemic." Lai Yuming said.

"Even if I don't come to Sanya for vacation, as a medical staff, I will actively sign up for the medical team to support Hainan." said Liu Meifang, a resident physician at Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. If there is an opportunity to do more meaningful things next, I am willing to continue to stay.

In order to support Sanya's fight against the epidemic, some stranded tourists like Lai Yuming and Liu Meifang took the initiative to sign up for volunteer services and became a heart-warming force in the fight against the epidemic.

"We change shifts. Some come in the morning, some at noon, and some in the afternoon. Relevant departments, hotels, hospitals and other units will send vehicles here to transport medical supplies. We are mainly responsible for handling." Chen Yi told reporters.

Chen Yi runs a trading company in Wenzhou. He fell in love with Sanya when he came to Sanya for the first time in 2008. Later, he bought a house in Sanya and comes to vacation several times a year. The family of three planned to return, but due to the epidemic, the return plan was affected.

A few days ago, Chen Yi saw someone forwarding the volunteer recruitment information in the WeChat Moments. After discussing with his wife, he decided to come and help.

Zhou Shixun from Wuhan is 19 years old and a sophomore student. During the summer vacation, he came to Sanya to visit his grandparents and planned to return to Wuhan in early August. After the outbreak, he lived in a controlled community. In a volunteer recruitment message in the community WeChat group, Zhou Shixun found that there was a shortage of manpower for positions such as drivers, operators, and information collectors, so he took the initiative to sign up.

As a nucleic acid information collector, Zhou Shixun affixed the barcode to the test tube and collected the health code of the residents of the community.

"Although this action is simple, it is still very tiring to repeat it all the time. After taking off the protective clothing every day, you have to shake your arms and loosen your shoulders." He said, "It's hard work, but you can do what you can. It feels very fulfilling."

Zhou Shixun told reporters that his family supported him very much as a volunteer. "Grandma gets up early every day to prepare breakfast for me." Zhou Shixun said that they will strictly abide by personal protection regulations during work, and while helping others, they also reassure their families.

On the afternoon of the 9th, the first batch of 125 tourists stranded in Sanya took a plane to Xi'an. According to the "Announcement on Matters Related to the Return of Passengers Detained in Hainan Island", Sanya has set up a special class for the return of tourists, and arranges the return journey in an orderly manner for the stranded tourists who meet the epidemic prevention conditions.

"Sanya is a beautiful city. Now it is in trouble. I hope it will get better soon." Chen Yi said.
