The reporter learned from the municipal urban management department that according to different environments, Jiaozuo has three methods of treatment.
Method 1: put the waste mask into the special bucket. The delivery environment is a public place. In order to actively and effectively respond to the COVID-19 and prevent the proliferation of discarded masks from causing secondary pollution, Jiaozuo City standardized the collection and disposal of discarded masks. Since last year, the city has set up a total of 1100 special buckets for discarded masks. Among them, there are 200 in Jiaozuo urban area.
It is reported that the words "special drop bucket for waste masks" are marked on the special drop bucket for waste masks, which are mainly set up in densely populated areas such as main and secondary roads, squares, large shopping malls, and markets in urban areas.
"Over the past year, some of the special dropping barrels for discarded masks have been lost or damaged. We call on the public to cherish public property!" said a staff member of the municipal urban management bureau. It is reported that Jiaozuo City will disinfection and sterilization the collected discarded masks and special buckets in a timely manner, and the discarded masks will be produced and cleaned every day.
Method 2: put it into the "other garbage" recycling bin. The delivery environment is a residential isolated observation community. Jiaozuo City has vigorously promoted the garbage classification work, and different types of garbage bins have been set up in each community. For the isolated observation community without home, Jiaozuo City allows residents to put waste masks into the recycling bin marked "other garbage". The community or property management department shall use 75% alcohol or 84 disinfectant to disinfection and sterilization and then transport it to the waste transfer station.
It is reported that the sanitation department uses closed vehicles to transport the waste masks to the domestic waste disposal site for harmless disposal. It is strictly forbidden for units and individuals to recycle, sort and use the waste masks.
Method 3: Put the waste masks into temporary storage. The placement environment is an isolated observation area at home. For individual isolated observation communities at home, the competent health department shall guide the establishment of temporary storage sites for discarded masks, and the community health service center shall separately disinfection and sterilization and store them in a sealed manner, and the medical waste disposal institutions shall be responsible for transportation and harmless treatment.
In addition, the masks produced by medical institutions and centralized isolation points belong to medical waste, which should be put into the medical waste collection box instead of the domestic waste collection container. These masks are strictly collected, transported and treated by medical waste treatment institutions in accordance with national standards and specifications.
